Badger women drop game to Minnesota, 63-50

MADISON, Wis. – After scoring just 16 points in the first half, the Wisconsin women's basketball team dropped a 63-50 decision to Minnesota on Wednesday night in the Kohl Center. The Badgers lose their third straight to fall to 10-14 overall, 3-9 in the Big Ten Conference.
 
The Badgers had just one player score in double figures as fifth-year senior Taylor Wurtz scored a team-high 15 points. Wurtz also led the team with nine rebounds.
 
Wisconsin shot just 33.3 percent (20-60) from the field, tying for its second-lowest shooting percentage of the season.
 
UW turned the ball over 13 times in the first half but just twice in the second half.
 
The Badgers made a season-low four free throws while tying their season low with just six attempts from the line.
 
Wisconsin returns to action on Sunday, traveling to No. 11 Penn State for a noon CT game from University Park, Pa., live on ESPN2.
