Recovering after Ripon fire

Posted: Updated:
RIPON (WKOW) -- A street in downtown Ripon is open again, two months after a fire destroyed two buildings.

Watson Street is returning to normal after the fire in December.

McBeth Rodriguez lived in one of the buildings.

And, although she and her family got out safely, she says it's still not easy for her to think about what happened.

"Sometimes I feel like I want to think about it, but I can't because it feels like feeling like a block in my chest."

But, Rodriguez has a new home thanks to the support of the community.

Plans call for the two damaged buildings to be knocked down.
