LAKE DELTON (WKOW) -- A two-year-old Minnesota boy has been reunited with his mother in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin State Patrol Sgt. Ryan Chaffee tells 27 news the boy's mother arrived to take him from State Patrol custody just around 7:00 p.m. Sunday night.

The boy's father, 33-year-old Marque Montez Charleston, was arrested by state police in lake Delton around 2:00 p.m. Sunday. The boy, Marque Montez Charleston, Jr., was in the car asleep and unharmed.

KSTP-TV in Minneapolis reports Charleston is accused of assaulting the child's mother and taking the child by force around 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

LAKE DELTON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin State Patrol has apprehended a suspect police say kidnapped a 2-year-old boy in Minnesota Sunday morning.

KSTP-TV in Minneapolis reports Marque Montez Charleston, 33, broke into a home in St. Louis Park near Minneapolis, assaulted the boy's mother, and took Marque Montez Charleston, Jr. by force around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Wisconsin State Patrol Sgt. Ryan Chaffee tells 27 News using cell phone signals, troopers were able to locate Charleston driving on I-90/94 near Lake Delton around 2 p.m.. He was taken into custody after a traffic stop. The boy was napping at the time and was unharmed.

Right now, the child is in State Patrol custody waiting for his mother who is on her way from Minnesota. Authorities say Charleston is the boy's father, but did not have custody.
