(WKOW) --- Snow emergencies have been declared in the area.

** City of Beloit declares a snow emergency Monday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.

** City of Columbus under a snow emergency until 6 a.m. Tuesday, February 18.  No vehicle may be parked or left on any street, alley or public drive during this time.

** Janesville has declared a snow emergency for Monday starting at 4:00 p.m.

That means all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets and public parking lots until snow plowing operations are complete. The city asks that you move your vehicle prior to 4:00 p.m. and keep your vehicle off city streets until they've been completely plowed.

The best place to park is your garage or a driveway. If you are unable to do so, please park in one of the designated snow emergency parking stalls:
East Wall Street Lot at East Wall Street & North Parker Drive
Municipal Building Lot at West Wall Street & North Jackson Street
South High Street Lot at West Court Street & South High Street
Senior Center Lot at St. Lawrence Avenue & Water Street
Hedberg Public Library Lot on Water Street
River/Union Street Lot at South River Street & Union Street
North Parker Drive Parking Ramp at North Parker Drive & East Wall Street
Janesville residents can get additional snow emergency information from the city's website or by calling (608) 755-SNOW.

** Portage declares snow emergency.  
Beginning at 3:00pm on Monday 2-17-14, parking is prohibited on all signed snow routes.
Beginning at 6:00pm on Monday 2-17-14, parking is prohibited on all other streets, except the Central Business District.
In the Central Business District, parking is prohibited on Tuesday 2-18-14 from 12:00am to 6:00am.
Vehicles not complying with these parking regulations are subject to a fine. These vehicles will be towed, and the owner will be responsible for any associated charges.
The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until 11:00am Wednesday 2-19-14, or until it is canceled by the Street Superintendent. You can keep updated by calling the 24 hour Snow Emergency “Hotline” at 742-2176 Ext. 335.

* The City of Stoughton declares a Snow Emergency, noting parking will be even/odd.
Stoughton's emergency takes effect at Midnight and runs through 8:00 a.m. It will remain in effect until three consecutive Midnight-8:00 a.m. periods have elapsed, unless the emergency is canceled or extended. For more info, go to www.cityofstoughton.com

* City of Adams Snow Emergency has been declared beginning 02-17-14 at 6:00PM and ending 02-18-14 at 12 noon.  A snow emergency means there will be no parking on any city streets during this time period.  Vehicles that are parked in the street could be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

* City of Madison declares snow emergency.  Remember to remove your cars from the street overnight if possible. If you must park on the street park on the EVEN house numbered side of the street tonight and the ODD numbered side Tuesday. The snow emergency will remain in effect until at least 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
