UPDATE: 6-year-old boy struck and killed in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- A 911 call came in to Milwaukee police just after 7:00 Thursday morning from the area of 41st and North Avenue, to report a child had been struck by a vehicle.

Our affiliate, WISN-TV states a family friend said a mother was walking her six-year-old son to the bus stop when a car slid up onto the sidewalk, striking the child.

Authorities said the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the car, a Milwaukee woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating in the investigation.

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Authorities say a child has been struck and killed in Milwaukee.

Our affiliate, WISN-TV reports a boy under the age of 10 died after being hit by a vehicle on the city's north side.

Police were called to the scene just after 7 a.m. Thursday.
