Tonight on 27 News at 10: Operation Fail?

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- In March 2013, a highly publicized sting conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice called Operation Black Veil resulted in the arrest of 17 men on felony child-sex charges statewide.

Five of those men were charged in Dane County, but only one was ultimately convicted of a felony.  Two of the suspects accepted plea deals on misdemeanor charges,  while two others saw their cases dismissed altogether.

Prosecutors say the state agents that worked the cases for DOJ mishandled or botched evidence in those four cases, which prevented them from securing felony convictions.

But how did that happen?

Capitol Bureau Chief Greg Neumann explains in Operation Fail?, a special report tonight on 27 News at 10.
