TOWN OF PLYMOUTH (WKOW) -- Just after 9:30 Friday morning, Rock County deputies were called to Highway 11 and Dunbar Road for a two-vehicle near head-on crash with injury.

A 69-year-old South Wayne, Wisconsin man was removed from a 2005 Freightliner, designed to transport grain, and suffered a head injury.  The man was taken to Janesville Mercy Hospital.

The second vehicle in the crash was driven by an 86-year-old Edgerton man who was found deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation reveals the 2005 Freightliner was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 11 when the operator swerved to the right to avoid colliding with the oncoming vehicle, which had crossed over the center line and entered the path of the Freightliner.  Following the collision, the vehicle came to rest on Hwy. 11 while the 2005 Freightliner overturned in a ditch.

Hwy. 11 was shut down for several hours.  The roadway where the collision occurred was clear of snow and ice, however, strong winds were prevalent.

Additional emergency responders included Footville EMS, Janesville Paramedics, Mercy Hospital, and Wisconsin State Patrol.
