Madison police search for Wells Fargo Bank robber

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police are searching for a man who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank near East Towne Mall Friday afternoon.

According to the Madison Police Department, the robbery happened just before 1 p.m. on Friday. A gun was not shown at the hold up, but a teller thought the robber could have had a weapon inside his bag.  The suspect ran off with some money.

Police have not been able to find the suspect.  He is described as a white male in his 30's.   He is around 5' 9" tall with a thin build.  He has a scruffy beard and was wearing a blue stocking cap, red sweatshirt, and sunglasses.

Anyone with information on the identity of the man should call 911 or Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014.
