CAMP WILLIAMS (WKOW) -- Friends and family gathered at Camp Williams Saturday to send off a group of Wisconsin Army National Guard Soldiers.

Members of the 32nd Brigade will be deployed to Kuwait and Jordan. Twenty-nine of the sixty-five soldiers are being deployed for the first time.

Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch was among those in attendance and wished the soldiers safe travels.

"The fact that this is such an important mission and that these men and women come from Wisconsin speaks volumes on how the U.S. military and the United States of America views our great state. Clearly if you have an important mission, you send people from Wisconsin," said Kleefisch.

One team will be sent to Jordan to create and reinforce existing military-to-military relationships in Jordan.

The other will work in Kuwait to enhance security and stability as well as provide force protection.
