Trial starts for Illinois man accused of killing Janesville woman

ROCKFORD, IL (WKOW) -- A Rockford, Illinois man is on trial for the murder of a Janesville woman.

The Rockford Register Star reports jury selection started in Winnebago County Circuit Court for Kody Walsh, 24. He's charged with First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Walsh is accused of shooting Lori Daniels, 36, of the Janesville, Wisconsin area while they were passengers in a vehicle near South Beloit, Illinois. Walsh is also accused of trying to kill the driver of the vehicle.

After the shooting, police say Walsh fled and was captured a week later in Memphis, Tennessee during a high-speed chase with officers.

Walsh has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
