Wisconsin taxpayers can check refund status on mobile app

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin taxpayers can now use a mobile app to track the status of their tax refund.

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue says taxpayers can also check the status on their website or through the agency's automated refund line.

The department is encouraging taxpayers, especially college students, to file taxes electronically. If they file early enough, college students may get a refund before spring break, the agency says.

The department's website has step-by-step instructions to help you fill out a Wisconsin tax return online.

About 80-percent of tax returns filed this year in Wisconsin will be electronically, the department predicts.
