Rep. Paul Ryan says GOP should shelve disdain and offer solutions

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, Va. (WKOW) -- U.S. Congressman from Paul Ryan of Wisconsin says the Republican Party should spend less energy pointing out problems and spend more offering solutions.

Ryan, the former vice presidential candidate and possible contender for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, was the guest speaker at a Tuesday campaign breakfast for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that Ryan told about 1,500 Virginia Republicans that the American people are well aware of the party's disdain for big government and President Obama's health care overhaul, but not everybody knows the GOP has better ideas. Ryan also said Republicans have to show they're capable of governing and leading.
