MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Three correctional officers have been injured by a combative inmate in the Milwaukee County jail.
Sheriff's officials say that the 43-year-old inmate, who is in on a homicide charge, refused to return to his cell and hit an officer on Tuesday. The guard tried to use his stun gun on the inmate however it failed.
The inmate then attempted to choke another officer while a third officer used his taser gun on the inmate. He was then handcuffed once additional officers responded. The inmate was transported to a local hospital after hitting his head on a wall, he was treated and released back to jail.
One officer suffered a possible tendon tear and is off work. A second officer received facial injuries and a third sustained and injury to his forearm.
