Two men face drug possession charges after report of animal neglect

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Two Janesville men were arrested Sunday for drug possession charges after investigation began from a report of animal neglect. 

The Janesville Police Department responded to an animal neglect complaint on February 19th. The investigation led officers to believe a dog was left inside the residence for over a week. 

Officers entered the home on February 20 to retrieve the dog when marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found in plain view.

A search warrant for the home was executed and during the search, 8 lbs of marijuana were found. 

On February 23, two residents returned back to the home and were arrested. Janesville Police Department has identified them as Karla Salazar and Jorge Humberto Salazar-Cruz.

Both suspects face charges of possession with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug residence.
