Local lawyer in court today; charged with battery after caning wife
MADISON (WKOW) -- The local lawyer charged with battery after caning his wife will be in court on Friday morning.
Daniel Rottier has a plea hearing Friday morning. Police say Rottier struck his wife with his cane when she confronted him about being drunk earlier this month. Officers on the scene observed a red welt about an inch wide and seven inches long on her back.
Sixty-two-year-old Rottier was arrested and taken to the Dane County Jail where he was found to have a blood alcohol level of .13.
