Annual Bed Sale to help children in need have a place to sleep

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- When families in Sun Prairie are in need, they turn to one woman for help, the "bed lady."

Lisa Wilkins' was recognized as one of our Jefferson Award Winners in November for her work to help children in need find a new bed to sleep on.

This Saturday, you can help her cause at the 3rd annual Bed Sale. The event is at Sun Prairie High School from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the Sun Prairie boys baseball team, but also gives people an opportunity to donate towards new beds for children in need.

The bed sale is run by CFS Wisconsin, which works with over 40 schools across the State, and has raised more than $160,000 for local schools. Wilkins said their goal this year is 100 beds.

If you can't make it on Saturday, but you'd still like to donate, click here. Once on the site, click on "Get 'em off the floor".

Wilkins joined us on 27 News at 5 on Friday.
