MADISON (WKOW) -- It was a happy homecoming for two dozen military families who were reunited Sunday afternoon.
Two squads of the Wisconsin National Guard's 115th Fighter Wing Security Forces arrived at the Dane County Regional Airport after spending about six months serving in Africa.
The homecoming was an especially memorable moment for one couple, who got engaged Sunday at the airport when the future groom arrived back in town.
"I decided back in November that this was what I wanted to do," says Sgt. Justin Padley, who proposed to his now fiance Wendy Anderson. "I went through a long process to order the ring and everything."
Padley tells 27 News he was able to arrange the proposal while overseas and ensure it was a surprise by coordinating with family back at home.
