Madison street crews battling slippery spots after overnight snow

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Street Department trucks are salting and sanding roads Tuesday morning.

Madison's 32 crews have been out since 2:00 a.m. Salt and salt brine is being applied to main arterials, main connector streets, Madison Metro bus routes and streets around schools and hospitals. Trucks will continue to salt and plow those routes until they are no longer slippery and the snow has been removed.

Crews are sanding the hills, intersections and curves on residential streets.

Some slippery spots and minor accidents have been reported in Dane County. Authorities say to drive slowly and brake early.
