MADISON (WKOW) -- Four finalists for provost of the University of Wisconsin-Madison will give their public presentations starting March 13th.
The provost serves as the chief academic officer of the university, and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the curricular, student and faculty life on campus.
The finalists are:
Robert A. Blouin, Dean of the Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sarah C. Mangelsdorf, Dean of the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences
Katherine S. Newman, James B. Knapp Dean and Professor of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University.
Julie Underwood, Dean of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Each candidate will meet with faculty, staff and students, and will give presentations open to the entire campus community.
The candidates presentations will be recorded and posted to the university's search site http://provost.wisc.edu/provostsearch.htm where members of the campus community can submit feedback on the finalists.
The successful candidate will succeed Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Paul M. DeLuca Jr., who announced in June that he would return to the faculty.
