Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Get ready to Cycle for Sight this weekend. It's an event to raise money for research into vision loss and blinding illnesses.

The McPherson Eye Research Institute (MERI) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is sponsoring Cycle for Sight, an annual indoor-cycling fundraiser.

The event is on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at three Madison locations. Cyclists will be pedaling at the Southeast Recreational Facility (SERF) and the Natatorium on the UW-Madison campus, and at the Princeton Club's west side location.

Everyone, including beginners and advanced riders, is encouraged to participate. Registration fees are $40 per team of four or $10 per individual.

Money raised will be used for research toward cures for a number of maladies associated with vision loss.
