Faster 911 dispatch times under new program

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A new program may help Dane County improve its 911 dispatch times.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi sent a letter to the 911 center asking it to try quicker alerts to get responders out faster.

Parisi wants dispatchers to begin giving these "pre-alerts" to the Madison Fire Department starting the week of March 31.

He says it could be expanded to other fire and EMS agencies in the county if it's successful.
