MADISON (WKOW) -- Some of those on Madison's west side should have water once again after a water main break that happened overnight.
The City of Madison says that thousands of people near Whitney Way & University Avenue lost water service around 12:30 a.m. They announced that water was restored three hours later.
According to City of Madison's press release, a 12-ince water main ruptured. Though water is back on for those who were affected, some may see discolored water. If you do find that your water is discolored, use a faucet that does not have an aerator and run a tap until the water is clear. If the water does not clear up after 15 minutes, you are advised to call the Water Quality Department at (608) 266-4654.
