WAUSAU (WKOW) -- The long winter has made it tough on construction workers to meet deadlines on homes in Wisconsin.
Companies throughout the state are delaying projects because tools are not working properly in frigid temperatures. Since they are not working, many companies like Larry Meyer Construction in Wausau have had to temporarily lay off employees.
"We've had to lay them off for a week here, a week there, because there's nowhere for them to go. We're scrambling to find projects for them but that's not always the easiest thing," said Project Estimator Kris Zuleger.
Some companies are behind by as much as six weeks and may have to put off some projects until the ground thaws out.
