FOND DU LAC (WKOW) -- A Fond du Lac woman is charged with mistreatment of animals amongst other charges after her son poured bleach on his puppies.
Our Green Bay affiliate, WBAY, reports the criminal complaint states 30-year-old Amanda Farr knew her son poured the bleach on the puppies, but did nothing about it. The boy also confessed, saying the puppy was biting his feet.
Late February, a neighbor saw Farr throwing away something. The neighbor heard it whimpering and found a puppy that smelt like bleach. A second puppy in the household also was exposed to bleach for up to three hours.
The dogs suffered chemical burns to their eyes and mouths. A veterinary exam shows one of the puppies has permanent lung damage and will be more susceptible to infections.
The Fond du Lac Humane Society took all the dogs in the home. The criminal complaint says the dogs have been showing improvement.
