UPDATE: Mt. Olympus indoor theme park reopens Friday afternoon

Posted: Updated:
WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -- Mt. Olympus reopened its indoor theme park Friday, but the ride a man fell from Thursday night will remain closed indefinitely.

The still unnamed man fell 15 to 20 feet from the Opa! roller coaster around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office. The office says UW MedFlight was called to pick up the patient, but his injuries and condition are unknown.

The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services is investigating the accident. The manufacturer of the roller coaster also inspected the ride Friday.

Danica Gabb, who rode Opa! with her husband and two kids shortly before the man fell, says it's scary to think it could have been them.

"It's a family environment and it could have been any of us," Gabb said. " And it could have been my family and it's just a really scary thought that it could have been us."

Gabb's 12-year-old daughter says the incident will make her think twice before getting on another roller coaster.

Meanwhile the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services says it expects to release its report on the accident early next week.
