"Crisis in Ukraine" forum to be held on UW-Platteville campus Tuesday

Posted: Updated:
PLATTEVILLE (WKOW) -- If you would like to learn more about the crisis in Ukraine, UW-Platteville is hosting a panel discussion and forum on Tuesday.

The university says the forum’s purpose is to inform students and members of the Platteville community about the development that is taking place in a part of the world many people know little about.

The panel includes four UW-Platteville faculty members.

Dr. David Rowley, professor of history and advisor to Students for Peace and Justice, will discuss the history of Ukraine.

Dr. Dan Leitch, assistant professor in the School of Education, will discuss what people are saying from the streets of Kiev.

Dr. David Krugler, professor of history, will discuss U.S. foreign policy when it comes to Ukraine.

Dr. Travis Nelson, associate professor of political science, will discuss what the U.S. can do, or should do, about Ukraine.

The "Crisis in Ukraine" forum will be held in 136 Doudna Hall from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A question and answer period will follow the discussion.

The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Rowley joined us on 27 News at 5 on Monday.
