Sheriff of Lafayette County won't run for re-election

Posted: Updated:
LAFAYETTE COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Lafayette County Sheriff says he will not run for re-election in 2014.

Sheriff Scott Pedley made the announcement Monday.

Pedley says he will serve out his current term, which ends on January 5, 2015. At that time, Pedley says he will have been a law enforcement official in Wisconsin for 35 years, 25 of those as the sheriff of Lafayette County.

"I'm not unhappy about anything and my health is good.  I simply believe it is time to turn this page of my life and move on to other things of interest.  Once I'm out of office I will re-focus to spend more time with the love of my life-my wife Ronda, and my family and friends," says Pedley in a news release sent out Monday.
