Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Department of Natural Resources sent a letter Tuesday to Gogebic Taconite outlining the permits and guidelines the iron ore mine project in Northwestern Wisconsin would require before it could open.

Requirements may include a mining permit, waste disposal study, air pollution permit, as well as wetland, wastewater and storm water permits.

DNR would also have to approve of the company's groundwater monitoring and surface water monitoring plans.
