Ice caves closing

Posted: Updated:
BAYFIELD (WKOW) -- The ice caves on Lake Superior will soon close for the season.

Officials say the ice is weakening and some formations are also melting and falling, raising safety concerns.

Access to the caves will close by Sunday night, but if conditions continue to worsen it could close before then.

More than 124,000 people have visited the caves since mid-January.
