UPDATE: Madison man sentenced to 38 yrs. for assaults

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man convicted of drugging, sexually assaulting and taking pictures of eight women while they were unconscious was sentenced to 38 years in prison.

29-year-old Brian Stowe learned his sentence on Friday.

Dane County Judge William Hanrahan scolded Stowe when handing down the sentence, calling Stowe's behavior "off-the-charts crazy." Hanrahan went on to say, "It's sick, it's twisted, it's creepy stuff. It does degrade us all. It makes us all feel less human."

Stowe apologized to his victims Friday, some of whom were in the courtroom. He said he intends to seek treatment while he is in prison.

Stowe has already been sentenced on federal charges stemming from this case, so when added up, he'll spend 42 years in state and federal prisons.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Brian Stowe will be in court for a sentencing hearing Friday afternoon.

He's the Madison man who's been convicted of sex crimes involving more than half a dozen women. Earlier this year, Stowe was sentenced to 15 years in prison for videotaping a 17-year-old while she was passed out and nude.

Police widened the investigation after the girl came forward. None of the women knew Stowe took images of them while they were unconscious.

Stowe has been charged with 62 felonies.

Friday's sentence in state court will be tacked on to his federal one.
