ALTOONA (WKOW) -- A healthier workplace is the focus of a bill signed by Governor Walker Thursday.
The bill creates a tax credit for small businesses that want to start a wellness program for employees. The tax credit will be equal to 30% of what an employer pays that year to provide the program.
"A lot of big companies do this routinely," Walker said. "They see it not only provides cost savings for them as a company, but also it helps improve morale. And we'd like to help more small businesses across the state."
Only businesses with 50 or fewer workers will qualify.
