Nathan Middleton makes plea deal in death of Fitchburg woman

Posted: Updated:
JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The man charged with hiding and mutilating the body of Aprina Paul has made a plea deal.

Nathan Middleton, 30, appeared in a Rock County courtroom Thursday.  Aprina Paul, of Fitchburg, went missing last October.

Middleton told investigators he met Paul on Craigslist, picked her up and brought her to his home.  He said the two had sex, Paul took an unidentified drug and he later found her dead.

Middleton pleaded guilty to one count each of hiding a corpse and mutilating a corpse.  According to the criminal complaint, Middleton told police he panicked and burned Paul's body after he found her dead.  Madison.com reports Middleton's felony attempted escape charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.

The court revoked his bond and scheduled a sentencing hearing for May 21.
