Aly Wolff Foundation to fund cancer research in McFarland native's name

McFARLAND (WKOW) -- Aly Wolff's friends and family have created a charitable organization in her name.

Aly was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in 2012. Her story gained national attention when Twitter campaign #BiebsMeetAly took off and she was able to meet her favorite artist Justin Bieber. Unfortunately, the 20-year-old college student lost her year-long battle with cancer in April 2013.

After her diagnosis, Aly's dream was to help others suffering from cancer. This week, friends announced on social media the IRS has approved an application to create a non-profit charitable organization, The Aly Wolff Foundation.

The group is hosting the second annual Aly's Honky Tonk Hustle on May 17. Proceeds fund cancer research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center, supporting Aly's dream of finding a cure.

Visit the organization's website to find out how to get involved in this year's event.
