Healthy Baby Month

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- March is known as Healthy Baby Month, but it's important to make sure the little ones are healthy and happy all year long.

Dr. Katy Cahill, a Meriter pediatrician, says the first step is to make sure expecting mothers have a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Cahill says that can include things like prenatal care, healthy eating habits, moderate exercise, and no smoking or drinking.

Dr. Cahill said it's also important to pick a doctor for your baby that fits your needs and lifestyle. She says you should build a relationship with that doctor through regular check-ups, not just when baby is sick. She also says you shouldn't be afraid to ask questions, and you should discuss important development milestones.

Dr. Cahill joined us on 27 News at 5 on Monday to discuss ways to keep your baby healthy.
