Badger fans rally ahead of Thursday's game

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW)-- Ahead of Thursday morning's tip off, fans got in the tournament spirit at The Milwaukee Theater.

The spirit squad, the band and of course the fans prepared to cheer on the Badgers as they kick of the NCAA tournament.

"They are the most important thing ever," said Willa Cullen, who drove in from Madison. "We love them."

A sea of red filled the theater for a pre-tip off pep rally.

"Just to see all the badger fans excited here and carrying that in to tomorrow," Willa said.

It capped off a Badger filled day. The team held an open practice and some of Bucky's youngest fans got to skip school
to watch.

"We saw them practice and do their half court shots at the end," said 9-year-old Josh Hersh.

The fans hope having game one in the Badgers home state gives the team momentum going in to Thursday's game.

"We were definitely happy to have them in Milwaukee so we could more easily  travel to come here and
their families and friends could come here too which is awesome," Willa said. "And there will be more of a fan base tomorrow which is
a plus."
