Final touches on preps for WIAA girls basketball tournament

Posted: Updated:
GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Thursday is the start of the WIAA high school girls basketball state championships.
The tournament tips off its second year at the Resch Center in Green Bay after leaving Madison.
WIAA Associate Director Deb Hauser says their vision for this year is to make it bigger and better.

"A lot of people came up to me last year as they were leaving on Saturday saying we're coming back, this was awesome. We can park, we can walk to the venue, we went shopping, we went out to eat, it was very fan friendly and that's important to people."

A few upgrades fans will see this year: decals on elevator doors and custom room key cards at team hotels.

And, as always, you can watch all of the games lives on WKOW-TV and, beginning with Thursday's first game at 1:30 p.m.
