Disabled Utah high schooler gives up prom crown to another girl

Posted: Updated:
RIVERTON, UT (WKOW) -- A high schooler who was voted "Prom Queen" gave up her crown so another girl could have that special moment.

This past weekend, Kendra Muller was named the Prom Queen of her school.  Students and teachers could not think of anyone more deserving.  Kendra was paralyzed in an accident two years ago, but she decided to give up her crown to special needs student Amanda Belnap.

Amanda was very happy to get the crown, and Kendra was more than happy to get it.  Amanda's mother, Melanie, was so grateful that a girl Kendra's age would give up something that means so much to many other girls around the country... the title of Prom Queen.

Everyone who knows Kendra was not surprised by her act of kindness.

Kendra says, despite her own difficulties, it wasn't a difficult decision.  She says it's just a decision to look out for other and if you can make someone else happy, why not do it.
