Deputies search for evidence related to Mazomanie homicide

Posted: Updated:
MAZOMANIE (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's deputies are out along Highway 14, again searching for evidence related to the death of Cheryl Gilberg.

The Sheriff's Office says they resumed their search now that the weather conditions are improving.  They have 25 deputies on a foot search of Hwy. 14 between Mazomanie and Middleton.  They are looking for the Charter Arms Pink Lady .38 caliber revolver missing from Cheryl's home, as well as other items.

Motorists traveling through the area should be aware of the deputies presence and drive with caution.  A number of citizens have volunteered their help, however, due to the sensitive nature of the evidence being sought, only sworn law enforcement will be permitted to search.

Anyone with information related to this investigation can call the Dane County tip line at (608) 284-6900.
