1 dead, 4 injured in Town of York crash

TOWN OF YORK (WKOW)— One person is dead and four injured after a two vehicle crash in the Town of York.It happened at 7:30 on STH 73 and CTH TT, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

The preliminary investigation indicates a sedan was northbound on CTH TT and failed to stop at the stop sign at STH 73. A southbound minivan on STH 73 was struck by the sedan.

The 47-year-old male driver of the vehicle that ran the stop sign was flown to UW Hospital by Medflight with serious injuries and a 51-year-old male passenger of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and two additional passengers of the minivan were transported to UW Hospital by EMS with serious, but not life threatening injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation.
