SHAWANO COUNTY (WKOW) -- Governor Walker signed his $500 million tax cut plan into law Monday.
The law will send $406 million to technical colleges to reduce their property tax hits, and it will also cut income taxes by nearly $100 million.
After signing the bill at a Shawano County farm , Walker said the bill is continuing progress for the state, "This is the third year in a row we've cut taxes -- some Two billion dollars worth. We're gonna keep doing it, keep going forward because we want to keep this state heading in the right direction."
The law will result in a $100 reduction in property taxes for the typical homeowner this year, and will also save the average worker $46 in annual income taxes.
But democrats citizen the plan as an election year gimmick.
