Arizona fans arrested after riots break out after loss to Badgers

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- The fan scene in Arizona was different than in Madison.

More than a dozen students have been arrested at the University of Arizona in Tucson after losing to the Wisconsin Badgers. Police say several hundred people blocked a road on campus after the team's loss. Officers say the rowdy crowd tosses beer cans, bottles and firecrackers at them after being told to disperse.

A police sergeant says officers used pepper balls and canisters to control the crowd. The people who were arrested are charged with resisting arrest, unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct.
