HOWARD, Wis. (AP) -- Brown County sheriff's authorities have identified the driver who was killed and the passenger who was injured when a box truck exploded in the Green Bay area.

Fifty-nine-year-old Gerald Throw, of the Oconto County community of Sobieski, died in the accident. Twenty-nine-year-old Jose Perez, of Green Bay, is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The two were turning into a driveway in the village of Howard Thursday afternoon when the truck's load shifted forward and pierced the compressed natural gas fuel system, causing it to explode. The truck is leased to Ace Manufacturing, which is located near the scene of the accident.

HOWARD, Wis. (AP) -- One person is dead and another injured after a truck exploded near an industrial park in eastern Wisconsin.

According to the Brown County Sheriff's Office, the box style truck slowed to turn into a driveway in the village of Howard at about 1:25 p.m. Thursday when the load shifted forward, pierced a fuel tank and caused the truck to explode.
 
In a news release, Lt. Kevin Wickman said the male driver died at the scene. A male passenger was thrown from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital with critical injuries.
 
Some of the nearby businesses were evacuated or employees asked to take cover while rescue crews looked into leaking fuels and removed the injured passenger.
