Gov. Walker signs oral chemo drugs bill

Posted: Updated:
MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Gov. Scott Walker signed a bill into law that is designed to lower the cost of oral chemotherapy drugs.

Walker signed the measure Thursday at the Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center.

The bill required health insurers to charge the same price for chemo-pills, which can be taken at home. They would cost the same as I-V treatments given at hospitals.

The new law will take effect in January.
