Final Four stadium like none other for Badgers and their fans

DALLAS (WKOW) -- You know the saying - "everything's bigger in Texas" - right?

Well, that may actually prove to be true this weekend in more ways than one as the NCAA hopes to set a Final Four attendance record at AT&T Stadium.

The home of the Dallas Cowboys simply looks huge whether you're on the floor or in the far reaches high above the court.

"This venue's obviously very unique," said Rob Carolla, NCAA media coordinator for the Final Four.  "It is one of the greatest sporting venues in the whole world, so to have it here is really a great drawing card for the Final Four to be in a place like this."

And as many as 80,000 fans could fill that very unique venue on Saturday.

"That is the hope and I think that we will get very close, if not break the record for attendance for college basketball," said Carolla.

With that many fans, some may not have the best view of the court, but Carolla says fear not.

"Obviously we've got one of the world's biggest video screens behind me, so that makes, even if you're in the upper level seats you're gonna be able to have a great view of the action because of that," said Carolla, referring to the 65 yard-long video board.

Fans who are a bit closer will get to see a floor built by Wisconsin resident and UW-Whitewater graduate Bruce Haroldson of Carroll Sports.

"We started out doing four or five floors a year and then that just mushroomed and once we got the NCAA contract it basically doubled our business in one year," said Haroldson, who lives in Hartland.

But Bruce has never built a court on which the Badgers might win a national championship.

"That would probably be the highlight of my career.  I could probably retire at the end of that, so that would be really neat," said Haroldson.

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys call the stadium "Jerry World" after team owner Jerry Jones.  But Badgers' fans will try to turn it into "Bucky World" this weekend..
