Posted: Updated:
WAUKESHA (WKOW) -- A Waukesha woman who is charged with doing unlicensed dental work out of her home made her first court appearance Monday.

A judge ordered 35-year-old Noemi Aguilera to stop doing the work and avoid any contact with past clients. Her lawyer argued today that Aguilera is valuable to the community and that she has no criminal record.

In the past, Aguilera has said she just wanted to help people.

She's due back in court May 1st.

WAUKESHA (WKOW) -- A Waukesha woman is charged with child abuse and practicing dentistry without a license in her living room.

WITI-TV in Milwaukee reports prosecutors say 36-year-old Noemi Aguilera offered reduced rates for her services, which had to be paid in cash.

Authorities say Aguilera was putting braces on children, using her living room as an office and unsterilized equipment.

A criminal complaint says a 13-year-old boy complained of pain and bleeding gums after Aguilera put braces on him. His mother then took him to a licensed clinic for an exam, and the complaint says the licensed dentist told police the boy had cement underneath his gums.
