UPDATE: Derailed train in Janesville has now been cleared

JANESVILLE (WKOW) --  According to the Janesville Police Department, the train that was derailed this afternoon has now been cleared.

At 5:12 p.m. the derailed train was cleared and all traffic is now open for normal movement in the area.


JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Friday afternoon, around 3:15, a train derailed at the five point intersection in Janesville.

This was a mechanical derailment and the train will have two intersections blocked for several hours.  Traffic should avoid the intersections of West Court Street and Center Avenue, along with North Academy Street and West Centerway Avenue.
