Bucks' Sanders suspended 5 games under drug policy

NEW YORK (AP) -- Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders will be suspended without pay for five games for violating the NBA drug policy when he returns from injury.
Sanders said in a statement released by the team Friday that he was penalized for using marijuana, the latest setback since signing a four-year extension worth about $44 million in the offseason.
The 6-foot-11 Sanders is out for the season because of a fractured right orbital bone. He was injured Feb. 8 when Houston's James Harden elbowed him in the right eye while going for a rebound. He had surgery shortly afterward.
Sanders also missed nearly two months this season after tearing a ligament in his right thumb during a fight at a Milwaukee night club. He averaged 7.7 points and 7.2 rebounds in 23 games.
