Green Bay family returning to Boston to run marathon

Posted: Updated:
GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Two weeks from Monday, tens-of-thousands will run the 11th Boston Marathon.

This year will have a unique meaning for those returning after last year's bombings.

Rolf Lulloff, a doctor in Green Bay, was about four blocks away when the bombs went off...

He was there watching his son Andrew, who finished the marathon about an hour before the explosions.
Now Andrew and his sister Sarah have convinced their dad to join them as all three return to run boston.

Rolf says, "It's wonderful they're standing up and saying we're gonna go on and we're gonna keep these events going."

While his daughter Sarah says, "The whole mood is celebratory, the spectators along the course know how to cheer for marathoners and they really get into it and so it's super fun."

Rolf says it will be his first marathon in decades, but says he's looking forward to running it with his son and daughter.
