Badger fans in Texas react to loss

Posted: Updated:

ARLINGTON, TX (WKOW) -- The Badgers' loss was tough on Wisconsin fans who made the trip to north Texas this weekend.

Badger fans were incredibly disappointed coming out of AT&T Stadium after Wisconsin lost to Kentucky in the final seconds of the game Saturday night.

Those we spoke to said the Badgers had a great season though and they have a lot to be proud of going into the off season and next year.

"They played a heck of a game ... came down to the last basket, what more can you ask? Except ... if we would have made it," says Madison fan Dave Armstrong.

"I cried, it really made me mad," Will Byrne, a 13-year-old fan tells 27 News. "This was the first college game I've ever been to, so it was annoying to see them lose by one point."

Charlie Wills, a member of the 2000 Badgers Final Four team, was also in Texas for the game.

"Nobody did anything terribly wrong, or different, it was just a game of wits and they hit the shots, so it's tough," Wills tells 27 News. "It's tough to watch."

Fans say they'll head home to Wisconsin, put the Final Four loss behind them and reflect on what was a great season.
