Oregon man now in police protective custody

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Village of Oregon Police Department say the individual involved in Thursday morning's incident is now in police protective custody. 

Police were called around 7:30 a.m. regarding a man threatening suicide.  The person who called also believed the man was armed.  The individual was headed towards the Madison College campus, prompting a lockdown there.

The all clear was given around 8:40 a.m.
MADISON (WKOW) --- Madison Police and Dane County Sheriff's Department were looking for a man who they thought might be armed.

This started in the Village of Oregon when the man was threatening suicide and police believe he may be armed.  They followed the man to Madison when they thought he could be headed towards Madison College.

Madison Police say that around 8 a.m. police blocked off roads near Madison College, but later found the man was not in that area.

MATC reports they are all clear now.

Madison Police and Dane County Sheriff's Department will not comment that the incident is over, but SWAT and police have left the scene.
